HEISTREADY BUYING STATUS
GTA 6 price: $79.99 Standard, $99.99 Ultimate
GTA 6 costs $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the United States. Those are the live figures on PlayStation Store and Xbox Store, read on August 3, 2026, and they have not moved since preorders opened on June 25.
This page also carries what most price pages leave out: what GTA 6 costs in the UK, the eurozone, Canada, Australia, Poland and India, each with the store page the number came from, and the one subscription term that quietly turns a $79.99 game into a recurring charge.
Every figure below links to the official storefront it was read from. HeistReady does not publish grey-market key prices, coupon claims, unverified retailer figures, or currency conversions.

How much does GTA 6 cost?
GTA 6 costs $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition on PlayStation Store and Xbox Store in the United States. That is the whole answer for most buyers. The $79.99 Standard Edition is the complete game — the same campaign, the same performance, the same November 19, 2026 unlock as everyone else. The extra $20 buys cosmetic and vehicle content, not early access and not a better version of the game.
Both storefronts list identical US figures, so there is no cheaper platform. Xbox renders its edition prices with a trailing plus sign, "$79.99+", which folds in add-on and tax variability; the price is $79.99. US store prices are shown before sales tax.
Both platforms also sell the Ultimate content as a standalone upgrade, so Standard is not a one-way door. On Xbox the Ultimate Edition Upgrade is live at $20.00, making Standard-then-upgrade cost the same total as buying Ultimate outright. PlayStation lists the same add-on against the GTA 6 product page — SKU ending ULTEDTIONUPGRADE-U001 — but its price still resolves as "Unavailable". The upgrade is not Xbox-only, as this page previously said; it is simply not yet priced on PlayStation.
- Standard Edition — $79.99 (PS5, Xbox Series X|S). The complete game.
- Ultimate Edition — $99.99 (PS5, Xbox Series X|S). The game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade content pack.
- Ultimate Edition Upgrade — $20.00 on Xbox. Listed on PlayStation with no price shown as of August 3, 2026.
- PC price — not applicable. No PC version appears on any official page.
- PS4 and Xbox One price — not applicable. GTA 6 is listed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.
There is no third edition. Rockstar’s editions page lists exactly two — Ultimate (Digital) and Standard (Digital or Code in Box) — checked in a browser on August 3, 2026. Any site quoting a "$149.99 Collector’s Edition" is describing a product that exists on no official storefront.
What the extra $20 actually buys
The Standard Edition contains Grand Theft Auto VI and the time-limited preorder items, and nothing else. The Ultimate Edition adds the Ultimate Edition Upgrade: a sixteen-item bundle of vehicles, weapons, clothing and unlockable shops that Rockstar describes as uncovered across Jason and Lucia’s story rather than handed over at once. The list below uses the storefronts’ own item names — a lot of coverage paraphrases it into things it does not say, including a raid mission and a set of "five destinations" that are not on it.
What it does not contain matters more to the price decision. It is not early access: no early-play wording appears anywhere on Rockstar’s editions page, and both editions unlock together on November 19. It does not improve resolution, frame rate or load times, and it includes no season pass, expansion, or announced future content. The $20 buys cars and clothes.
- Vehicles: ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles, Ganado Retro Build, Shitzu Squalo, ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, Classic Car Collection.
- Weapons: Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, Personalized Weapon Variants.
- Style: Vice City Style, Goodtime Gear.
- Locations: Rideout Customs Mod Shop, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305 Clothing Store, Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor, One-Eyed Willie’s Mod Shop, PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store.
- Not included in either edition: early access, performance upgrades, announced DLC, or a permanent GTA+ subscription.
Because the upgrade is sold separately, the low-risk order is Standard now and upgrade later if the cars turn out to matter. On Xbox that costs the same total either way. On PlayStation the upgrade has no price yet, so check it rather than assuming parity.
GTA 6 price by region
GTA 6 is not priced by currency conversion. Rockstar and the platform holders set a figure per store, and those figures were fixed when preorders opened on June 25, 2026. Every price below was read from an official regional storefront on August 3, 2026, and each row links to its store page in the source ledger below.
Read the sticker numbers carefully before comparing them. UK, eurozone, Australian and Polish prices are displayed inclusive of VAT or GST; US and Canadian prices are displayed before tax. That alone makes a direct comparison of the printed figures misleading, before exchange rates enter into it. HeistReady does not publish converted dollar equivalents, because a conversion is accurate for about a day and this page is not re-checked daily.
India is the outlier, with the narrowest gap between the two editions anywhere. That is regional pricing working as intended, and it is not something you can use: buying outside your account region breaks platform terms and can strand the purchase on an account you cannot play it from, which is the part the "cheapest region" videos never mention.
- United States — $79.99 Standard, $99.99 Ultimate. PlayStation Store. Excludes sales tax.
- United States (Xbox) — $79.99 Standard, $99.99 Ultimate. Xbox Store. Excludes sales tax.
- United Kingdom — £69.99 Standard, £89.99 Ultimate. PlayStation Store. Includes VAT.
- United Kingdom (Xbox) — £69.99 Standard, £89.99 Ultimate. Xbox Store. Includes VAT.
- Eurozone (DE, FR, ES, IT, NL) — €79.99 Standard, €99.99 Ultimate. PlayStation Store. Includes VAT.
- Canada — C$109.99 Standard, C$139.99 Ultimate. PlayStation Store. Excludes tax.
- Australia — AU$129.95 Standard, AU$159.95 Ultimate. Xbox Store. Includes GST.
- Poland — 349.00 zł Standard, 429.00 zł Ultimate. PlayStation Store. Includes VAT.
- India — ₹5,999 Standard, ₹7,499 Ultimate. PlayStation Store. Includes tax.
- The Standard-to-Ultimate gap is 20 units of local currency in the US, UK and eurozone, but 30 in Canada and Australia.
- Deliberately absent: the Australian PlayStation Store, Japan and Brazil. Those pages did not return prices on checking, so they are not published. The Australian row above is the Xbox Store price.
PlayStation and Xbox matched each other in every region where HeistReady read both listings — the US and the UK. That is not the same as matching everywhere, and this page will not claim it does until each store has been read directly.
Is GTA 6 an $80 game because $80 is the new normal?
Not exactly. The industry tried $80 in 2025 and mostly backed away from it. Nintendo held, pricing Mario Kart World at $79.99. Microsoft put The Outer Worlds 2 at $79.99, reversed within weeks to $69.99, refunded the difference to existing preorders, and said its full-priced holiday releases would stay at $69.99. 2K walked Borderlands 4 back to $69.99 before preorders opened. So GTA 6 did not join a settled consensus — it became the largest release ever to hold $79.99 after two publishers had already flinched, which is not how a publisher behaves when it expects to blink later.
Label check: $79.99 and $99.99 are CONFIRMED against official store pages. "$80 is the industry standard" is REPORTED commentary, and two major publishers reversed $80 pricing in 2025.
Preorder bonuses, and the GTA+ term that costs money
Rockstar’s own wording is that all Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders and purchases before November 20 will get the Vintage Vice City Pack. That is a purchase window rather than a preorder-only window: buying on launch day still qualifies, buying on November 21 does not. The pack is cosmetic and needs no redemption step.
The free month of GTA+ is where the money is. On PlayStation it is not a code you can sit on. After buying, you complete a zero-cost transaction on the GTA+ product page, and that enrolls your account in a recurring subscription. When the free month ends it converts to a paid one automatically at $7.99, £6.99 or €7.99 per month. Forgetting to cancel is not a one-off mistake, it is a monthly one.
Read the terms before you claim rather than after. You have until March 31, 2027 to redeem on PlayStation, or 180 days on Xbox. The offer covers digital Standard and Ultimate purchases and can be claimed once per account however many copies you buy. Existing subscribers can stack the month onto an active subscription. Several PlayStation country stores are excluded, including Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, the Russian Federation and Taiwan.
- Buy before November 20, 2026 for the Vintage Vice City Pack. Launch-day purchases still qualify.
- Claim GTA+, then turn auto-renew off the same day: PS Store → Subscriptions → Subscription Management, or Xbox → Settings → Account → Subscriptions.
- Redeem GTA+ by March 31, 2027 on PlayStation, or within 180 days on Xbox.
- One claim per account. A second copy does not earn a second free month.
Treat the free month of GTA+ as a $7.99 charge you have to actively prevent. It is the most common way a $79.99 game quietly becomes an $87.98 one.
Physical costs the same, and there is no disc
The boxed edition is a download code in a game case. Rockstar states that the physical version of Grand Theft Auto VI, containing a download code inside the box, is available starting November 12 to support pre-loading. There is no disc, only the Standard Edition is sold this way, and the price matches digital — so physical is the same price with fewer options, since a redeemed code has no resale value and cannot be lent. Our physical versus digital guide covers the format trade-off; this page is only concerned with what it costs.
- Boxed Standard: same $79.99, download code inside, no disc, on shelves from November 12, 2026.
- Boxed Ultimate Edition: does not exist.
- A December 2026 disc release has been reported by third parties and is not confirmed by Rockstar. Treat it as RUMOR.
- Retailer prices are not published here. HeistReady has not verified any retailer selling GTA 6 below official list.
Will GTA 6 go on sale?
Not in 2026, and very probably not in the first half of 2027. Rockstar’s pricing behaviour on flagship titles is the most predictable thing about the company: Grand Theft Auto V launched at $59.99 in September 2013 and stayed near full price for years, and publisher-side discounts on Red Dead Redemption 2 took considerably longer to appear than retailer ones did.
The calendar makes launch-week hopes worse rather than better. GTA 6 arrives on November 19, 2026, eight days before Black Friday and one day before the preorder-bonus window closes. Waiting for a Black Friday price on the game means losing the Vintage Vice City Pack and almost certainly not getting a discount either. What does get cut hard that week is hardware: consoles, TVs, headsets, SSDs and controllers.
- Launch week: no discount on the game. Black Friday 2026 falls eight days after release.
- November 20, 2026: the preorder-bonus window closes, a week before Black Friday.
- First realistic meaningful discount: a 2027 seasonal store sale. That is an estimate from Rockstar’s history, not an announced plan.
- Consoles, TVs, storage and accessories are the categories that genuinely discount in launch week.
The cheapest correct way to buy GTA 6
Standard Edition, $79.99, on the storefront matching your account region, bought before November 20, 2026, with GTA+ auto-renew switched off the day you claim it. That is $79.99 plus tax and nothing else. Then refuse the two routes that promise less: region-switching to another store’s rate violates platform terms and risks both the purchase and the account, and any key listed below $79.99 is stolen, region-locked, or not a key at all, because GTA 6 has been on sale at a fixed price for six weeks with no publisher discount in existence anywhere.
- Buy from the store matching your account region.
- Pick Standard unless you are certain about the Ultimate content.
- Ignore any GTA 6 price below official store list.

FAQs
How much is GTA 6?
GTA 6 is $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the US, on both PlayStation Store and Xbox Store. Those figures were read on August 3, 2026 and have not changed since preorders opened on June 25. US prices exclude sales tax.
How much will GTA 6 cost at launch?
The same as now. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 at $79.99 Standard and $99.99 Ultimate, and those launch prices are already live on both storefronts. Nothing on any official page suggests a change between now and release.
Is GTA 6 80 dollars?
Yes, effectively — $79.99 for the Standard Edition. That puts it in a small group of $80 games rather than a settled industry standard. Microsoft and 2K both announced $80 titles in 2025 and reversed to $69.99 after backlash; Nintendo held $79.99 for Mario Kart World.
What is the GTA 6 price in the UK?
£69.99 for the Standard Edition and £89.99 for the Ultimate Edition, identical on PlayStation Store and Xbox Store, read on August 3, 2026. UK prices include VAT while US prices do not, so comparing the printed figures directly overstates the difference.
What is the GTA 6 price in India?
₹5,999 for the Standard Edition and ₹7,499 for the Ultimate Edition on the Indian PlayStation Store, tax included, read on August 3, 2026. It is the narrowest gap between editions of any region on this page. Buying outside your account region breaks platform terms.
How much is the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition?
$99.99 in the US, £89.99 in the UK, €99.99 in the eurozone, C$139.99 in Canada, AU$159.95 in Australia, 429.00 zł in Poland and ₹7,499 in India. It adds vehicles, weapons, apparel and shop locations. It adds no early access, no performance benefit and no announced DLC.
Is the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition worth it?
Only if you specifically want the cars and cosmetics. On Xbox the $20.00 Ultimate Edition Upgrade is sold separately, so buying Standard first costs nothing extra overall. On PlayStation the same upgrade is listed but has no price yet, so check it before assuming the two paths are equivalent.
Is there a GTA 6 Collector’s Edition?
No. Rockstar’s editions page lists exactly two editions — Ultimate (Digital) and Standard (Digital or Code in Box) — checked in a browser on August 3, 2026. Pages quoting a "$149.99 Collector’s Edition" are describing something that appears on no official storefront.
Will GTA 6 go on sale?
Not soon. GTA 5 held near full price for years after its 2013 launch, and GTA 6 arrives eight days before Black Friday 2026. The first realistic window for a meaningful first-party discount is a 2027 seasonal store sale, and that is an estimate from Rockstar’s history rather than an announced plan.
Will GTA 6 be cheaper on Black Friday 2026?
No. It releases November 19, 2026, eight days before Black Friday, and no publisher discounts its biggest launch inside two weeks. Worse, the preorder-bonus window closes on November 20, so waiting until Black Friday costs you the Vintage Vice City Pack for no saving.
Is there a cheaper way to buy GTA 6?
No legitimate one. Prices are fixed across PlayStation Store and Xbox Store, and HeistReady has not verified any retailer selling below list. Region-switching violates platform terms and risks your account. Any key below $79.99 is stolen, region-locked, or not a working key.
Is the free month of GTA+ really free?
Only if you cancel. Claiming it enrolls your account in a recurring subscription that bills $7.99, £6.99 or €7.99 monthly once the free month ends. You have until March 31, 2027 to redeem on PlayStation, one claim per account. Turn auto-renew off the day you claim it.
Changelog
What changed on this page
Corrections and material updates are published here with a date. HeistReady does not edit a published claim silently.
Rebuilt from a US-only price snapshot. Added a nine-row regional price table for the US, UK, eurozone, Canada, Australia, Poland and India with a source link per row; the official sixteen-item Ultimate Edition Upgrade contents; the November 20, 2026 Vintage Vice City Pack cutoff; and the GTA+ auto-renew terms. Corrected the Ultimate Edition Upgrade, previously described here as Xbox-only — PlayStation lists the same add-on, currently with no price shown. Stopped publishing "$79.99+" as a price; the plus sign is an Xbox display artifact. Removed the "(July 2026)" title stamp so the title cannot go stale between updates. Deleted the duplicated cost section that repeated the same four figures three times. Australian PlayStation, Japanese and Brazilian prices could not be read and are deliberately not published.
