Rockstar officially confirmed on June 24, 2026 that digital preorder holders can begin pre-loading on November 12, 2026, a week before the November 19 launch — and boxed copies, which contain a download code rather than a disc, reach shelves the same day to support preloading. That moves the real deadline for storage and account preparation forward by seven days.

There is a third date worth putting in the calendar. All preorders and purchases before November 20, 2026 receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. That cutoff falls one day after launch and a full week before Black Friday on November 27 — so waiting for a Black Friday discount means giving up the preorder bonus.

• November 12, 2026: preload opens. Storage, firmware, and account work must be finished before this.
• November 19, 2026: launch, at local midnight per storefront region.
• November 20, 2026: preorder bonuses end — buy before this date for the Vintage Vice City Pack.

Plan to November 12, not November 19. Preload is what turns launch night into a short patch download instead of a full one.

Confirm the console first

Before spending on accessories, make sure your console matches official platform support. PlayStation lists PS5 and PS5 Pro Enhanced, while Xbox lists Xbox Series X|S.

Do not buy setup gear around a PS4, Xbox One, or PC launch claim unless an official source confirms that platform.

Display checklist
