HeistReady buying guide

Best TV for GTA 6

GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, both of which can output 4K HDR over HDMI 2.1. The right TV makes the most of that: deep contrast for night-time Vice City, a bright HDR image for daytime, and low input lag so driving and shooting feel responsive.

We have not seen GTA 6 run, and Rockstar has not confirmed a target frame rate or resolution, so we rank these TVs on the console gaming features that matter regardless: HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, a true 120Hz panel, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), ALLM, and measured input lag. Confirm the exact model, size, and current retailer terms before buying.

What to check before you buy a GTA 6 TV

HDMI 2.1 ports (not just "4K"): needed for 4K 120Hz from PS5 / Series X.
A native 120Hz panel, plus VRR (FreeSync / G-Sync / HGiG) and ALLM.
Low input lag — look for roughly 10ms or lower at 4K 120Hz in Game Mode.
For bright rooms, prioritize peak brightness (mini-LED QLED); for dark rooms, prioritize OLED contrast.
Confirm the size and panel variant you are buying — features can differ by size.

Pick 02Best starter OLED

LG B5 OLED

For players who want OLED black levels without the flagship feature set.

Key specs

Four HDMI 2.1 ports, 4K 120Hz with VRR
FreeSync Premium, G-Sync, HGiG; ALLM; Dolby Vision gaming

Pros

OLED contrast in a simpler tier
Full HDMI 2.1 and VRR support
Low input lag

Cons

Lower peak brightness than C5/S95F
Fewer processing extras than pricier OLEDs

Why this pick: It keeps the gaming essentials — four HDMI 2.1 ports, 120Hz, VRR, ~9ms lag — while cutting brightness and processing you may not miss in a darker room. Best value route into OLED for GTA 6.

Pick 03Best premium

Samsung S95F OLED

For enthusiasts who want the brightest OLED and the highest refresh headroom.

Key specs

Four full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports, up to 4K 165Hz

Pick 04Best bright-room value

Hisense U8 / TCL QM8 (mini-LED QLED)

For bright living rooms, or anyone who wants very high brightness.

Strong value at large sizes

Cons

Blooming around bright objects vs OLED
Viewing angles narrower than OLED

Why this pick: Mini-LED QLEDs like the Hisense U8 and TCL QM8 deliver far higher brightness than OLED, which wins in bright rooms — just confirm the exact size/model and its HDMI 2.1 ports before buying.

FAQs

Do I need HDMI 2.1 for GTA 6?

For 4K at 120Hz from a PS5 or Xbox Series X you need HDMI 2.1. GTA 6 has not confirmed a frame-rate target, but an HDMI 2.1 TV future-proofs you for high-frame-rate modes and other games. At minimum, make sure the TV does 4K 60Hz HDR with low input lag.

OLED or QLED for GTA 6?

OLED gives the best contrast and is ideal for darker rooms and night-time scenes. Mini-LED QLED gets much brighter and is better for sunny rooms and the best value at large sizes. Both can hit 120Hz with VRR on the models above.

What size TV should I get?

For a typical living-room seating distance, 55–65 inches suits most setups; go larger if you sit further back. Confirm that the size you choose keeps the same HDMI 2.1 and 120Hz features, since specs can vary by size.
